How can we improve our Stock Selection Guide Tools?

  1. Match target return to company size automatically and also provide a way to override the values.

    Instead of using a 15% target return for every stock, reduce the target return to the level appropriate to the company size. A medium size company would have a target return of 12%, etc. This might help newbies realize that 15% growth is not necessarily realistic for large companies. Also, could help get users looking at the return of their entire porfolio.

  3. Calculate the beta of the entire portfolio

    When developing portfolio reporting, include the beta for the entire portfolio in one of the reports.

  4. Show the Assess Stock Price Graph when you click on quick view for a study

    When clicking on quick view for a study, display the color coded 25/50/25% graph for assessing stock price (either instead of or in addition to the typical SSG chart with sales, stock price, and earnings).

  6. Add the ability to remove Pre-tax Profit Margin data (outliers) in the Preferred Procedure window.

    In the Preferred Procedure window, it would be nice to be able to identify outliers in the Pre-tax Profit Margin data (from the most recent 5 fiscal years) to quickly calculate a new average. The new average would then appear as the default value for the PTPM in the preferred procedure calculator.

  8. Ability to share a study on Facebook

    Give the user a link to allow them to share a read-only version of their study on Facebook.

  9. Create SSGPlus 'Non-Study' view

    This would be a pared-down view by removing the judgment-related components but also generally retaining the overall layout. Also, perhaps some of the data or components could be compressed into more of a dashboard-like style. For example, the Analyze Growth tab could stay the same but the judgment components would be hidden and sections 4 and 5 of the Valuation tab could be replaced with a dashboard. The added benefit of this is it could aid the members who do quick, high-level research by scanning for companies to invest in.

  11. Add the capability to be alerted/emailed when new data for saved SSG's is available

    Allow portfolios or studies to be flagged to receive alerts when new fundamental data is available after a reporting period.
