You can update all studies in the account by clicking on the ‘Portfolios’ bar on the ‘My Studies’ screen then looking for the ‘All Studies’ row and clicking on the Refresh (circular) icon to refresh/update the data in all studies.
You also have the ability to update all studies in a single user-defined portfolio in a similar manner.

  4. Adding Return on Assets as an “Evaluate Management” metric when studying bank stocks

According to many resources, Return on Assets (ROA) is one of the best ways to evaluate profitability of a bank. %Pre-tax Profit on Sales is less useful when evaluating a bank, so I would suggest replacing that line with ROA for banks.

The calculation is done in one of 2 ways:
Return on Total Assets (ROTA) = CY Net Profit / CY Total Assets
Return on Average Assets (ROAA) = CY Net Profit / ((CY Total Assets + PY Total Assets)/2)

Where CY = current year; PY = previous year

Both are used. ROTA would result in a more conservative…

  5. Add a screener option to find up, straight, and parallel companies.

The mantra of BI is to find up, straight, and parallel companies. The screener should have an option to find these companies.

This was implemented in September 2023 with the new 'A-List Companies' pre-defined screen for SSGPlus users. The A-List Companies screen returns all companies that pass every historical data audit check or fail only one check. No valuation criteria are included.

  7. Allow the ability to update all relevant studies as a group rather than one at a time

It is time consuming and annoying to have to update all stocks for a club meeting one at a time. This should be changed to allow one step updating.

Thanks for submitting and voting on this feature! It can now be accomplished by setting up a portfolio, adding the relevant stocks and then you can update the SSGs (either just prices or price and data) as a group. See the Portfolio Quick Start Guide available from the tools ‘Help and Information’ Tab for more information.

  8. Show actual name in file manager along with ticker

Many of us do not have company names memorized by ticker.

  10. Under research tab have the sites grouped by type of information being sought.

    For example:
    Research (the heading tab)
    EPS estimates
----------------- Yahoo (linked to section with EPS estimates)
    ----------------- Reuter (etc)
    Competitors
----------------- Yahoo (linked to section with EPS estimates)

This would serve to prompt the analyst to go to the better sites to consistently get quality information on the topic of interest.

  13. For the quarterly data display, move the scroll bar to the bottom of the data grid.

pre-select the bottom of the quarterly data table so the most recent data is immediately in view.

  14. Add an analyst estimate data panel to the 'Analyze Growth and Quality' page

Show this data on the page in a panel or other display rather than having to mouse over the graph to see the values.

  15. Add a judgment audit like Toolkit

Add a judgment audit like Toolkit. These are algorithms and reporting that examine the user's entered judgment for sales, earnings, high PE, low PE, low price, and/or payout on potential problem areas.

  20. Add the TTM EPS to the printed SSG.

This suggestion applies to the printouts in both the CoreSSG and SSGPlus. Since the TTM EPS is often used in the Low Price calculation and is often the start point of the EPS 5 year projection, the value should be printed on the form for reference. Suggest that the TTM EPS value be added to section 3, near the current P/E, and/or to the graph to annotate the most recent quarter (if one has been reported beyond the fiscal year).
