Create a preset search that looks for stocks meeting George Nicholson's Triple-Play.
George Nicholson's idea of a Triple-Play was briefly mentioned in the old NAIC handbook. With all the great technology in the online SSG tools, it would be nice to have a preset search that would pull in stocks possibly meeting the three requirements for a Triple-Play. Apparently, the aspects of a T/P are found if one has a Value Line account, and many of us don't, or don't have access via libraries.12 votes
Add a screener option to find up, straight, and parallel companies.
The mantra of BI is to find up, straight, and parallel companies. The screener should have an option to find these companies.9 votes
Pre-Defined Screens - export to Excel Spreadsheet
Allow one to export the results in an Excel Spreadsheet from the Pre-Defined Screens.8 votes
Ticker HeatMap - One for each size of company
To supplement the "Small Company" pre-defined screen, it would be nice to have heat-map option to have a separate heat map for each company size -- Large, Medium and Small. Would still like the overall for all studies.7 votes
Filter-Out Stock Screener Results
In stock screener results,
One thing i would like is if we could have ability to filter out (i.e. remove say a particular industry, instead of filtering only for a particular industry)6 votes
Save featured list
I ran a screen and then reviewed each screen item using the preview option. On the ones I was interested in, I selected "Save to filter list" (see screenshot immediately below). Next, I opened the filtered list (see second screenshot "Show Filtered Items" below in green).
Based on the online training videos I watched, I think "Show Filtered Items" below in green is fairly new. I really like the feature, but would like to be able to save my filtered list for viewing later. Is there a way to do this?4 votes
Adjust width and/or delete rows & columns
The ability for these suggestions would add immense capability to the Stock Screener.3 votes
Allow printing of the Search Results
There should be a way to print the search results to make it easier to research all the companies. It is frustrating to have to enter the criteria multiple times, or print the companies 10 companies at a time.3 votes
Add the BI top 100 as one more of the filters in the screening tool
Allow a member to select from the top 100, say 'those above xxx' or 'Morningstar B' etc.3 votes
Feature to save the Search criteria
In the search screen, can you provide a way to save the search criteria?
Screener Preview Data Graph Order
When you select a column to sort screener results by and then do into Data Preview, the order of the companies remains alphabetical. I'd like the order of companies to be in order of the column I sorted by.2 votes
Pre-Defined Screens should use the same Criteria as manual entry
The pre-defined screens use different Criteria that the manual entry for example pre-defined screens use 10 yr Growth numbers for Sales and Earnings and use >10% which is not an option in the drop-down search criteria. Also search criteria use 'EPS R2 5 year greater than 0.9'. Not sure what the cryptic R2 refers to and should be removed and 0.9 and ranges as used in the pre-defined screens dont exist in the manual search. May I suggest that all pre-defined searched use the same search criteria as the user can select to allow a user to enter similar searches with perhaps making small changes.

Re-name stock search page to 'Stock Ideas' page
While the Magnifying glass icon link to the page says 'Stock Ideas', the page title doesn't - it's inconsistent.
Actually there doesn't seem to be a page title, unless it's 'Search for a company'. but that's not really what the page does.
'Search for a company', 'Search Criteria', etc are good for parts of the page, but 'Stock Ideas' is a better name for the page itself.
It's even the name of the drop-down category in this feature request section. So maybe that's what the developers call it??1 vote
SSGPlus Search return result fields for Sales/Earnings not consistent
The Sale & Earnings growth figures in the "search results" for some companies are not consistent with the SSG. For example, stock symbol MOS (Mosaic) shows:
Sales = 56.3 & Earnings = 8.6 from the Search results
Sales = 2.6 & Earnings = 3.8 on the SSGPlus
There are others with just a discrepancy in Earnings.1 vote
in the stock search tool
I think you should be able to filter sales growth earnings growth current P/E p/e to historical p/E based on greater than or less than what ever variable you are looking for. For example if I was searching for a stock to add to my portfolio in the consumer information sector I get 288 stocks then if I narrow that down to say the advertising industry I may want to look at companies that have sales growth greater than say 12%. Presently you can't do that in the results area1 vote
