How can we improve our Stock Selection Guide Tools?

  3. Add a way to access a price chart, like BigCharts.com or Stockcharts.com

    Add a way to click on bigcharts or stockcharts from within the SSG for a quick visual reference on current price versus historical price.

  4. Allow stock shares be assigned by portfolio

    During the demo we saw where you can enter stock shares. I would like this to be saved by portfolio.

  5. Show actual name in file manager along with ticker

    Many of us do not have company names memorized by ticker.

  6. List the Company Size in Growth Rates section in Stock Comparison Guide.

    I have different growth rate expectations based on revenue; would be nice to have company size listed on SCG.

  11. Adding Return on Assets as an “Evaluate Management” metric when studying bank stocks

    According to many resources, Return on Assets (ROA) is one of the best ways to evaluate profitability of a bank. %Pre-tax Profit on Sales is less useful when evaluating a bank, so I would suggest replacing that line with ROA for banks.

    The calculation is done in one of 2 ways:
    Return on Total Assets (ROTA) = CY Net Profit / CY Total Assets
    Return on Average Assets (ROAA) = CY Net Profit / ((CY Total Assets + PY Total Assets)/2)

    Where CY = current year; PY = previous year

    Both are used. ROTA would result in a more conservative…

    Folks have a hard time remember the company size definitions by BetterInvesting. Consider adding company size that to the Company Summary box based on BI definitions

    Add a judgment audit like Toolkit. These are algorithms and reporting that examine the user's entered judgment for sales, earnings, high PE, low PE, low price, and/or payout on potential problem areas.

  14. Allow Portfolio Summary Report to be Printed as Sorted on the Screen

    I can set up a portfolio to follow, and on the screen I can reorganize the stocks in the portfolio in alphabetical order, but when I go to print the list of the stocks in the Summary Report, they always print in the original order. Allow the Summary Report to print as sorted and shown on the screen.

    Allow the fundamental data to be 'locked' so that new/updated data is only added and doesn't overwrite older or edited fundamental data.

    User entered data is now locked on a row-by-row basis.
    We advise that all ‘non-changed’ data is kept unlocked so it is automatically updated (upon a user initiated refresh/update) in the case of a stock split.
