  1. Include (text) fields to explain (remind) the logic used in the calculations, e.g.: the forecasted EPS

e.g: sales growth / high - low PE. The idea is to be able remember the reasoning, to see which inputs where taken into account, where they came from, what numbers were used, etc.

  2. Enable Quarterly Data Charting:

Make better use of the “Quarterly Data” tab. I use it regularly, but it is difficult to spot trends in the data without charting it. Being able to download it into Excel would suit my personal needs. Being able to select the data you want to chart and then click a button and have the chart appear would be great. The ultimate would be to be able to do both.

  3. Re-think Debt to Capital Ratio

Re-think the use of the Debt to Capital Ratio (D/C). Most members don’t understand what capital is. I have always assumed it is a measure of the financial strength of a company. If that’s the case, the ratio ignores the ability of the company to service its debt and its available cash, equivalents and marketable securities. Either make a strong argument for retaining the ratio, or consider other measures of the financial strength of companies in general. Consider using the Debt to Equity Ratio (D/E) or Interest Coverage (or “Times Interest Earned”) as a means to measure the financial strength…

  4. Number the Vertical Axis and Add Constant Compound Percent Growth Lines to the SSG Plus

Number the Vertical Axis and Add Constant Compound Percent Growth Lines to the SSG Plus

Number the vertical log axis and include constant compound growth lines on the visual analysis chart beginning at the origin of the chart and running across the chart.

    • The vertical (log) axis appears to be auto ranging. While that’s understandable, the decision to make it auto ranging carries with it the disadvantages of disguising what the growth rates of companies are. Two companies that look similar on the charts may be growing at significantly different rates.

    • Numbers on the log axis, would enable…

  5. Daily Price Updates for TK6 Missing

Since Verizon bought out Yahoo!, Verizon has eliminated the free 15 minutes delay price updates for all exchange listed stocks.

TK6 users are no longer able to update daily pricing for stocks in their portfolios. We have to wait 24 hours to get the Prior Day's pricing.

This is not acceptable. I have called BI and made the request for them to start looking for an alternative. I have even made several third party vendor suggestions.

Yes, these third party vendors will charge a fee. But, I also suggested to BI that any additional fees for data could be passed…

  6. Refresh Buttons: Difference between "Refreshing All Studies/Portfolios" and "Refreshing Individual Studies"

When the user Refreshes "All Studies" or "Portfolios", locked data is not touched.

However, when the user Refreshes "Individual Studies" there are two "Overwrite" options and one "Create A Copy" button.

Is it correct to assume that "Overwrite" means Overwrite....including eliminating/overwriting the Locked data?

And, when choosing the "Create a Copy", doesn't that also overwrite locked data, update the data.... and create a copy?

Also: Date Modified column: Gives the date that the user Refreshed either the price or price and data. How can the user tell which companies fundamental data were refreshed? Not all companies release quarterly data on…

  7. dividend growth

will be a good idea to see dividend growth since div+growth is in foundation of NAIC ideology. Personally, I like to see low div yield next to high div yield.

  9. Member sentiment report

When utilizing the member sentiment I often find variable number of judgments that are clearly outliers. Recently in SBUX I saw a High PE's of 1582, a number of Payouts above 1500 (yes 1500), and a number of low PE's over 900. the unedited averages were High PE 45.8, Lo PE 163.9, payout of 876, with a potential return of 43.8. Really?

With 493 studies (could these really be called studies?) it is very labor intensive to go through the studies line by line to remove the outliers. There must be a way to throw out judgements that vary to…

  10. Pop-Up window showing math calculation when moving cursor over a particular field.

Although there is a separate pdf showing the math calculations used behind the scenes in an SSG, a simple pop-up reflecting the math would be faster and more efficient.

  12. Low PE Input

Expand Low PE input on SSG and SSG Plus to include a second decimal place; 20.56. The high PE input has two decimal places. Please expand this field for the Low PE.

  13. PERT mouse-over popups

    - On the PERT report use mouse-over popup help text to describe each column header and it's derivation eg when mousing over 'Proj RV' - popup 'Projected Relative Value = Proj PE / Avg PE (Projected)'

    - On PERT report, when hovering over a colored cell use popup help text to describe the condition that triggered the colorization event.

  14. Allow the user to select either % high total return or % average total return for reports

In the report summary allow the user to select either the compound total return using the high PE OR the CTR using the average PE.

  15. When entering a ticker for a study all studies with that ticker should be on top of the popup list

After I input a ticker into the box, from quick navigation, all existing studies for that ticker should be displayed at the top of the drop down list. that way if there is an existing study I may want to utilize I can make that choice at that time.

  16. Debt label on SCG Stock Comparison Guide

I personally would like to see the last year of Debt % Equity on the Stock Comparison Guide (SCG), rather than a 5-year average. Either way, the label should identify what period the number is for (like PTP and % Earned on Equity are labeled as a 5-year average).

  17. List what quarter of the fiscal year is being reported beside the date.

We would like to be able to complete our quarterly reports forms more easily from the OLT. One data point missing is the number of the quarter of the fiscal year being reported. (ex: Q4 6/30/17) Would also like to see projected relative value on the SCG. (Which is a great tool BTW.)

  19. Graphical Stock Comparisons

Would be nice to be able compare two or more companies graphically for their stock performance for a given time horizon, say 1, 2, 3 or 5 years. (A picture is worth a thousand words).

Evaluating a company strictly on price performance is not the primary purpose of the tool and there are many sites that do this already. We suggest checking out the ‘Price Charts’ research links in the tool.

  20. Add a bulk add feature to create a portfolio

Allow me to create a portfolio by clicking on existing studies. Ideally, I'd like to also be able to enter the number of shares in a tabular view instead of having to edit each stock in the portfolio.

another bulk add idea would be to be able just list the ticker symbols and then add the judgment to each SSG in the portfolio
