  1. Add an option to the FILE menu to allow for "Add to a Portfolio"

When completing a study that we want to add to an existing portfolio or watch list, it would be helpful (and simpler) if the user could do that directly from the study, instead of having to return to the list of portfolios and then edit the portfolio to add the stock.

  2. Date stamp for SSG study date/update.

Add a date stamp to portfolio display that shows when I last updated an SSG study, i.e. change judgement, so that I know how old my study is. The current Modified Date changes with price and data updates and does not reflect when I last studied the SSG.

  3. Show which companies have new data since my last data update.

One helpful feature of Toolkit 6 is that it shows which companies have updated data since my last data update, i.e. companies that have had quarterly earnings releases. That indicates which companies I need to re-study. Otherwise, it is not evident which companies need re-study.

  4. Make labels more descriptive

It would be helpful if some of the labels were updated to make them more descriptive, so we don't have to guess or reverse engineer the numbers to figure them out.

For example: in the Fundamental Company Data section, user has no way of knowing just by looking at the table if the column labeled "Forecast (%)" is an annual forecast or is it the forecast for 5 years in total?

In section 3, it says "High this year" and "Low this year". Does that mean the calendar year, or is it a TTM time period? (plus it would be…

  5. Suggest only One Tool

I know way to much energy explaining the difference and frankly the difference is not worth the time and effort spent. May I recommend that there be only one tool that is continually improved. Perhaps there is 2 modes expert and newbie.

  6. Add ability to input prior quarter or year when data is missing from data feed.

1st Quarter of 2016 data for Flowers Foods is missing. I have contacted both BI (June 6) and Morningstar (June 22, July 31, and August 16) to have the data added. It is still not in the data feed and I cannot add a prior quarter of data to the SSG manually to include the missing data.

  8. Include date on print version Notes and ability to reorder Notes

Right now it only includes subject and description. The date column would be helpful as you follow the stock over time.

Also, it would be nice to be able to reorder and/or sort the notes. Sometimes I don't do my research in the order of the SSG but it is easier for club members if I present the information in the logical order of the SSG.

  9. I understand the SSGs are for finding stocks that fit the BI criteria. What if we could enter the price we paid for a stock to evaluate it

I understand the SSGs are for finding stocks that fit the BI criteria. What if we could enter the price we paid for a stock to evaluate it going forward. The BUYs HOLDs SELLs are based on the current price, right? If we paid more than the current price, the SSG does't show us the potential in our owned stock. Right?

  10. Alt+M in the CoreSSG.

Alt+M is a feature that is highly used in the Toolkit and it would be great to see it in the CoreSSG

  11. Create a new report to show user judgment (forecast) reference points

The report could be printed alone or with the SSG PDF and would show similar information as the 4 judgment/forecast pop-up windows in order to provide a reference of what was chosen and the other reference points that were displayed at that point in time.

  12. Add current PE in parentheses after the Current Price as shown in Toolkit 6

Add current PE in parentheses along with the Current Price as is shown in Toolkit 6; i.e., Current Price (PE) 44.78 (20.1)
    52-Week High Price (PE) 61.05 (27.4) and 52-Week Low Price (PE) 33.67 (15.1).

  13. The two date columns in the list of stocks should be more informative

By default, the original date of the study is added to the name of the stock, so there is no need to show it in a separate column. The much more relevant dates are the Most Recent Price and the Judgment Date, which would be the last date in which any of the judgment items are modified. It would also be helpful to see the Most Recent Quarter date. All three of these dates are available and select-able in the Library listing. Let the user select the one or two preferred dates to be displayed.

  14. Quick Navigation should be simplified.

There should only be one field for entry of the ticker. If the company is in the user's database, it should be listed for selection, as it is now. In addition to the company name, there should also be an optional choice to load a new datafile. Having a separate field for entering the ticker for a new company should be unnecessary.

  15. Filter-Out Stock Screener Results

    In stock screener results,
One thing i would like is if we could have ability to filter out (i.e. remove say a particular industry, instead of filtering only for a particular industry)

  16. Create a preset search that looks for stocks meeting George Nicholson's Triple-Play.

George Nicholson's idea of a Triple-Play was briefly mentioned in the old NAIC handbook. With all the great technology in the online SSG tools, it would be nice to have a preset search that would pull in stocks possibly meeting the three requirements for a Triple-Play. Apparently, the aspects of a T/P are found if one has a Value Line account, and many of us don't, or don't have access via libraries.

  19. Add the ability to evaluate Dow Jones, S&P and NASDAQ averages

These averages have prices, EPS and dividends. Section 1 plot would not have a sales line but would have EPS line with a projection and price bars. Section 3 would have prices, EPS, P/E ratios, dividends, yields and could have projected highs and lows. We need the ability to evaluate the market as well as individual stocks.

  20. Add a timestamp to the Member Sentiment study date so we can tell if a number of studies were done in a short period of time.

With a timestamp and the study date, we could see if a number of studies were done at essentialy the same time indicating that they were probably all done by the same person or maybe a lot of studies done after an online presentation like Stock Up or Ticker Talk.
